Here is a video on youtube of Eric Carle describing the creative process behind the children's book The Very Hungry Caterpillar youtu.be/fvRcCKP5v6Q He uses some sort of tissue like paper that melts away as he sets things on top of it. Is it simply tissue paper or something else?

Busy living

Hello everyone.

I hope you are doing well. As I type this I am waiting for my sheets to dry and avoiding using the shower in my home that clogs despite how many times we've tried to fix it. I shouldn't avoid showering too long because they've been working on the pipes on my street and turn off the water without notice.

Soon I will be finished with school. It's bittersweet. I'm excited to be completing the program but with it comes many concerns. First off, there's no formal graduation. Without a ceremony I don't think anyone will bother to celebrate with me. If I can afford it I may just go to my favorite bar and buy myself a single drink. It would be fitting in my life if I ended up celebrating that moment by myself. Hopefully I will be proven wrong in that lots of people will come to spend time with me or maybe some one will take me out. But as I mention that school is nearing to being done no one has asked if there will be any ceremony. I'm also going over to my dad's place to earn money to pay for my massage therapy certification. He is my best client and very supportive. Everything is being played by ear right now. I'll need a job soon.

I've been crocheting more and more. It hasn't seemed that appropriate to add my crocheted stuff on here but I am thinking of doing so. My account needs some updates yes? Well, time to scrub off my natural mustiness and head to school. Have a great week!

If those links don't work then I will upload them to flickr.

Check out my new etsy shop. It's finally up and running.
Bound To Be

There is also a FB page where you can receive updates on the shop. Bound To Be on FB

I'm looking forward to a contest soon but I don't want to violate any web community's rules. It seems I can't run contests on FB by promising a giveaway. I will look into my options.

Any comments or critiques on the shop is much appreciated. I am very new to this and continually tinkering with my shop's listing and descriptions. I've also been making my ways through the Getting Started guides on etsy's site. I'm really excited to have a shop open! Hopefully I can make a little bit of money while I spend 40+ hours at school a week.

Art rut

6 min read

The new journal page is interesting... Where do I put a title? I had to switch off my skin to find it

Anyways, I've been in a bit of a life rut for a bit now which has resulted in an art rut.

I really want to start contributing to this site again. Part of my decrease in production was living most of the time at the boyfriend's. He has been evicted from his apartment less than a month ago. I'm back living full time with my family but this doesn't feel like home. My room is freezing unless I pile the covers on over me. The only place I have to create is in my dining room.

I have many comments that owe a response. Eventually I will get to those... but for right now the less I expose myself to other people's art and the more I lurk the easier it is for me to create on my own.

Crafting and drawing while alone has become very important to me. I need an environment where I can safely churn out both good and bad art. Especially with how hard life has been these past two years. Any activity where I get to let it out normally leads to me sniffling or beating up the canvas. This is a difficult thing to accomplish with people walking through the dining room to get to and from the kitchen. My brother means well but he's always asking me what I'm doing. Though, it's not like I make an effort to share once it's done so I should work on a compromise. I used to wait until everyone went to sleep or the house was empty. My family has taken to staying up way later than they used to and hanging out near the dining room. I covet man cave's so deeply that get jealous when I see some one has one in their home. Man cave- (noun) A creative space or room that no others can enter so that the owner may create freely

I've started a small art journal. After finishing my Sketchbook Project journal I wanted to continue doing it. This new art journal is small, only a few pages, and a place where I don't have to worry if it's good or not. I create in it for twenty minutes or more. So far I've skipped using things like brushes and foam pads so I may enjoy the feeling of getting me hands dirty again. The journal is red and is the first in a series of journals following the colors of the rainbow.
